Motorcycle Insurance Facts

Make sure you’re covered on the open road. We cover your motorcycle and accessories. We can also provide you with lower rates if you combine your motorcycle policy with an auto policy through Allstate .

Some Features of our Policies

First-Accident Waiver
Accidents happen-we understand. And we’ll prove it to you by forgiving your first accident and not raising your motorcycle insurance premium.
To use this feature, four things need to happen:

  1. It has to be the only accident in 48 months where you were at fault-on any motorcycle.
  2. Your motorcycle insurance policy needs to be at least 48 months old.
  3. Both the bike and the driver have to be covered when the accident happens.
  4. The covered driver can’t be charged with any major traffic violation related to the accident.

Optional or Added Equipment
You spend thousands getting your bike perfect—a sweet custom seat, crash bars, a windshield, whatever. What happens if it gets stolen or totaled? Your motorcycle insurance policy automatically comes with $1,000 of coverage on after-market upgrades. And you can buy extra coverage that raises the limit up to $30,000.

Towing & Labor Costs
If your bike breaks down or you’re in an accident, don’t worry about the cost of getting it home or to the shop. This feature typically reimburses you for the costs of towing and the related labor. Policies for Harley-Davidson, Touring and Touring Sport include this coverage automatically. You can also buy the coverage for other types of bikes.

Lease/Loan Gap Coverage
Having your bike get totaled or stolen is bad enough. What happens if you’re still paying for it through a lease or loan? If you’ve got Lease/Loan Gap Coverage, we will usually pay the difference between your motorcycle and the balance of your loan or lease. To get this coverage, you need to have Comprehensive and Collision Coverages on the same policy.

Rental Reimbursement
If your bike gets stolen or has to spend time in the shop, this feature usually helps cover the cost of a rental. You can typically take advantage of this coverage only if you’ve made a claim for Collision or Comprehensive Coverage.
